Revel's Guide to the 2024 Holiday Season

MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

Hello Clients, Friends and Revel Family,

Does anyone else feel as though they’ve jumped timelines this year? This can’t actually be our reality, can it?

Leap year, Cicadas, AI and robots, a bizarre election season, threat of war, women’s rights over her own body being questioned, a fluctuating stock market, inflation; what else does 2024 have in store?

But, there are some bright spots, too. The Olympics are certainly what we all needed; and wow, the innovation this year has brought. For the most part, when my head isn’t engaged in news or social media algorithms, things are cheerful and I certainly have nothing to complain about among day to day interactions and know how lucky we truly are. And this is the perspective we need to take into the rest of the year as things get more noisy.

As for Q4, it is almost upon us! Even though it’s still summer, back to school is here, and before we know it, the air will be crisp - pumpkin spice lattes will be consumed, and we’ll all be inundated with even more election ads, amidst Q4 shopping season - and a shortened one at that.

So as we wrap up the year, rather than focus on what could go badly (although we should be nimble and prepared for these things), I’m choosing to focus on what could go great. Being the cheer that we all wish we had more of - hopefully that will be infectious and spread. Please join me!

Enjoy this year’s edition of Revel’s Holiday deck. It explores key trends, preparedness (hint: stay flexible, plan ahead, lean into tech but remember it’s not quite ready to be set and forget, 1st party data is your friend, and - give your customers what they want!), but also provides a bit of cheer in the most cheerful season of the year.
